Self-driving cars are hardly new. We've seen dozens of automatic vehicles
over the years, many of which have seen advances driven (so to speak) by various
DARPA challenges. But now that
Google's involved -- whoa! -- the mainstream media is suddenly whipped into a frenzy of hyperbolic proclamations about the future. Still, it is fascinating stuff to watch.
