Sintek deny iMac touchscreen panel rumors

Friday’s reports that touchscreen panel specialists Sintek were sampling projected capacitive touch sensors to Apple has seemingly got the company in a spin, with a forthright denial of any such arrangements being issued. According to DigiTimes, Sintek VP Barry Wu outright denied that the company were working with Apple on touch sensors for an upcoming iMac refresh.

Still, by rising to the bait, it’s unlikely Sintek will find itself off the hook. Apple are notoriously strict with suppliers and in their demands for secrecy, and one likely assumption many will make is that Sintek is hoping to preserve a potential business deal by downplaying their involvement. Of course, it could also mean that the touchscreen iMac rumors are just that – simply rumors – and Apple has no such intentions.
